British Medical Association Book Awards 2017
BMA House, London, 11th September 2017
Sports Psychiatry was highly commended in the Psychiatry category at this year’s awards. At the ceremony were both editors (Alan, far right and Bruce, far left) with Peter Stevenson and Lauren Tiley from the Oxford University Press.
And here is what the BMA reviewers had to say about the handbook…
Great little book! Packed with useful information, well-structured, good layout, easy to refer to, concise yet surprisingly detailed. I found it an interesting read which broadened my understanding of the subject and addressed many practical points across a wide range of mental health topics. It should be well-received by target audiences. I can only say positive things about it. It is well-written, easy to follow and provides practical information and management guidance for a wide range of mental health problems that affect the health and performance of athletes. Very useful for psychiatrists but also of interest to other health professionals, coaches and even athletes themselves.
